Making teenagers read again
To reinterpret classic reads
Published on September 28, 2022
Laetitia Escot, 4th grade teacher makes her students read short stories by Maupassant at Decroly College in Saint-Mandé. While working on the Horla, she found a clever way for her students to “get in touch with the characters”: editing and filming interviews. Young people must question each other by impersonating characters from the novel. A method that works fine, notices Laetitia. Because by mixing the art of theater with digital tools, students identify themselves with the characters and better fit into the story.
