In this German school, the teacher offers her students a very intriguing exercise: the creation of airbags to protect eggs.
The purpose of this exercise is simple. The eggs will be thrown from 4-5 meters high. For them to remain intact, the children must prepare a protection from the materials provided by the teacher (bubble wrap, balloons, box...).
First of all, this work helps children to think how to solve a problem. They are facing it and they must find a solution. But also, it helps to boost their creativity because it is also an exercise in manual work.
The concept of intelligence is based on the principle of adaptability when facing a problem. It is important to confront children with problems so that they develop their autonomy and their ability to adapt. In primary school, we see that with mathematics : faced with a concrete question, the child must reflect and demonstrate his reasoning.
The shaping of their ideas allows children to push the reflection even further. So we have here a complete scheme for the development of the intelligence of the child.
