For this class from a Montreuil-sous-Bois college, classical and/or contemporary music is not something they do know well. They are attending a concert with the Paris Mozart Orchestra which will perform a creation composed by Benoît Menu. The man being present, he will be able to help the students to discover symphonic orchestra and musical creation.
Created in 2011 by conductor Claire Gibault, the Paris Mozart Orchestra is a committed, daring and united artistic ensemble. With demanding and innovative musical programs, it defends classical music, contemporary creation and decompartmentalization of the arts in a spirit of openness and sharing.
Defenders of contemporary music and the "melologist" genre, the PMO commissions a multidisciplinary work each year from composers from such diverse backgrounds as Graciane Finzi, Fabio Vacchi, Silvia Colasanti, Edith Canat de Chizy , Philippe Hersant, Alexandra Grimal or Benoît Menut, thus contributing to the emergence of a new repertoire intended both for an audience of insiders and for students in elementary schools, colleges and high schools that are partners of Orchestre Au Bahut – the device of artistic and cultural education of the PMO, 2016 winner of "La France S'Engage".
